Sports Fans,

I’m the host of Sports Kings Talk Show w/ Mean Gene. My broadcasting career started in Little Rock, Arkansas after attending Metropolitan Vo-Tech and taking Radio/TV Broadcasting while attending high school. I continued my education in Journalism at the Columbia School of Broadcasting (not affiliated with CBS) in 1985. It was 15 years later before I started talking sports on KHPY AM 1600 in Moreno Valley CA in 2000. During that same year, I also covered minor league baseball following the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and the Lake Elsinore Storm. It wasn’t long before I got the upgrade to cover Major League Baseball, starting with the  Los Angeles Dodgers, the (at the time) Anaheim Angels followed by the San Diego Padres.   

In 2001, I hosted a Sports Talk Show on KWRM 1370 in Corona CA on Saturday evenings from 8pm-9pm. Later that year, I moved to KRLA Newstalk 870, a much larger station in Los Angeles. This move allowed me the opportunity to cover the NBA, including the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers on a regular basis. As host of the “Early Morning Sports Show” in Los Angeles on KRLA, I finally got the opportunity to cover the NFL. The Oakland Raiders and the Chicago Bears allowed us access to their teams and things blossomed from there. In 2002, we covered the entire SBXXXIV in San Diego along with all the national media.

In 2005, I moved to Dallas and quickly got back on radio at KMNY AM 1600, although we didn’t maintain enough sponsorship to keep us on the air, SportsKings.Net continued broadcasting on the Internet with a nice following of listeners. In 2007, we partnered with former 2-Time Super bowl Champion Jim Jeffcoat to host a weekly Internet sports show in Dallas. In 2010, we hosted a Weekly NFL Countdown Show on WCGO in Chicago and in 2011, we hosted the same show on KFNX 1100 AM in Phoenix Arizona.

I would like to thank all of those who I have partnered with over the last 10 years to help keep this thing going. There’s no way any of this could have happen without you guys.
